UAE’s DAMAC Owner Hussain Sajwani and his Work

August 15, 2018

Hussain Ali Habib Sajwani started out in the food industry working in the catering business in Abu Dhabi during the 1980s. He was catering for the US Military and the construction company Bechtel. It was then that he realized that although he could make a lot of money catering, he would make millions not billions. This is when he decided to get into the real estate market. He and his family had been in the real estate market before. They had developed hotels for the masses of visitors who came after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

DAMAC Properties was founded in 2002 by Hussain Sajwani and is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. They are the largest luxury private real estate dealer in the Middle East. They work on projects that are used for commercial, leisure, and residential purposes in Dubai and other locations in the Middle East.

DAMAC Properties felt the hit in 2008 when the market collapsed but were able to pull themselves out if it rather quickly because of the way that DAMAC handles cash; they do not hold debts for land and they are paid completely at the start of the transaction.

More recently, DAMAC is planning on expansion and is looking at places like Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Hussain Sajwani said that they do not plan on expanding into Egypt or Syria due to the political issues taking place there.

DAMAC properties is known for their luxurious properties and extravagant marketing tactics. One marketing technique they use is giving away Lamborghinis to people who buy apartments.

DAMAC and Hussain Sajwani, the DAMAC Owner, give back to the community as well. They recently gave two million AED to a campaign that gives clothes to children in need all around the world. The campaign is associated with the Red Crescent, a humanitarian organization in the UAE. DAMAC’s donation alone will help 50,000 children.

Hussain Sajwani and the Trumps have had many positive encounters in the past, he even has business connections with his children: Ivanka, Donald Jr, and Eric. Donald Trump and Hussain Sajwani already have an agreement associated with the Trump International Golf Club, and plan to work together on Trump’s real estate firm, the Trump Organization, but Trump will not close the deal while in office citing “a conflict of interest.” Follow Hussain on Twitter.
