Dan Bethelmy-Rada Flexes His Environmental Muscles

March 5, 2019

Though Dan Bethelmy-Rada has been with Matrix/Biolage for several years, it’s only now that he’s made his biggest impact with the company. As the Global Brand President of the professional hair care brand, he’s got his hands in almost every basket with the company.

However, for the past two years, he’s been working on his pet project with a team of the companies brightest; the task was to create a hair care range that was as natural and environmentally friendly as possible. This was in contrast to many of the companies competitors, who Dan Bethelmy-Rada saw as just nature-inspired in many cases.

After two years of work, and a significant delay in its launch, the R.A.W range has been on the market for a few months. Since then, it’s received a lot of praise for being one of the most environmentally friendly product ranges in the hair care market. As Dan Bethelmy-Rada has noted, 70% of the products are natural and sustainably sourced while the majority of the products are over 98% biodegradable. However, the company had to overcome a few significant hurdles before the R.A.W. range could make it to market. The first of these was the extensive testing that the ingredients and then the overall product and packaging had to undergo. Go Here for additional information.

This was to ensure that the range was as environmentally-friendly as possible; luckily, the company had the backing of the “L’Oréal Sharing Beauty With All programme”. The sourcing of some of the products was also a factor and eventually led to a delay in the product range being released. According to Dan Bethelmy-Rada, this was because of their shipment of clay, which was contaminated during transport. Rather than have to change the formulation and compromise some of the ingredients, the company decided to delay its launch to get an uncontaminated source of clay.

This has led to the company having some of the most impressive environmental credentials in the hair care industry, according to Dan Bethelmy-Rada. This is also in part because the company kept all of the manufacturing in-house, from formulation to packaging; this ensured that everything was done to the highest standard possible.
